ProMedia Capture

The ProMedia™ Capture video ingest engine is the high-speed first link in an optimized, file-based multiscreen workflow. A member of Harmonic’s ProMedia suite of software solutions and application servers, it acquires live and taped SD and HD video in real time and encodes it directly into the most-common production and delivery formats.

ProMedia Capture supports an extensive array of acquisition, editing, broadcast, web and mobile codecs and wrappers. Leveraging the widely deployed ProMedia Carbon transcoding software, powered by Harmonic’s Rhozet™ technology, it efficiently ingests baseband content and immediately makes it available for program preparation. Direct ingest into the Harmonic Omneon® MediaGrid shared storage system makes content available to a variety of media processing applications simultaneously, resulting in faster workflows. The result is enormous time savings for the production and delivery of content for multiple applications, including video mastering, content repurposing, archiving and video on demand.
